Black Berkey Filters
The manufacturer has recently discovered that a supply shipment of black berkey filters from a December, 2010 production run has some filters experiencing a break from the base. Customers receiving systems between 12/10 and 8/11 may be affected. If you are experiencing this please contact the manufacturer and follow the instructions on their form at http://www.berkeywater.com/rma.pdf. They can also be called direct at 888-803-4438 or e-mailed at customerservice@berkeywater.com. As always, if you ever suspect a filters performance (other than an obvious broken base), you must perform a red food coloring test to verify which filter may be affected so that the manufacturer may have it replaced.
