Installation

Replace Your Filter in Two Minutes

Unscrew the cap from the Sport Berkey bottle.
Remove the old filter from the cap assembly.
Insert the new filter into the cap.
Fill the bottle with water and fasten the cap tightly.
Pull down the lever to expose the straw.
Squeeze the bottle twice to flush the new filter.
Rinse the bottle and cap, and your Sport Berkey is ready to use.

Will this filter fit my Sport Berkey?

It fits Sport Berkey bottles made after October 1, 2015, which use the newer design with a larger internal straw. Replacement filters for older Sport Berkey bottles are no longer made by the manufacturer.

When should I replace the filter?

Replace it after 640 refills from municipal or well water, or sooner if the flow slows noticeably. Keeping a rough count of refills is the easiest way to stay on schedule.

Can I use this filter in a different bottle?

No. The filter is made to attach to the Sport Berkey cap and straw, so it only works with the Sport Berkey bottle.

How do I store my Sport Berkey if I will not use it for a while?

Flush the filter with a mild chlorine solution (about 1/4 teaspoon of chlorine per half gallon of water), then let the bottle and filter dry fully with the cap off. Once dry, reassemble and store it in a clean, dry place.
