As the popularity and interest in Berkey water filters grows, there is a surge in unauthorized Berkey dealers who follow unethical marketing practices.

Currently, New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (NMCL) — the manufacturer of Berkey® products — only sells their products through an exclusive network of authorized dealers, such as Big Berkey Water Filters. 

Unauthorized Berkey dealers typically include sellers that list on marketplace websites such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and other online marketplaces, who are not listed as an authorized dealer by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (NMCL). When purchasing Berkey products from these marketplaces, you should verify that the seller is an authorized Berkey® dealer.

Purchasing a Berkey product through an unverified reseller could result in you receiving defective, stolen, or counterfeit goods that could be inferior in quality. More importantly, while these products may resemble Berkey products, if they are counterfeit products, they will not have been tested, and will not offer you and your family the same level of protection that a genuine Berkey product would provide. They are also not covered by NMCL's standard manufacturer warranty or return policy.

It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the dealer they purchase their Berkey product from is a trusted Berkey dealer that is authorized to sell Berkey products.

How to verify whether a Berkey Dealer is Authorized

To ensure that you purchase a genuine Berkey product, only buy from trusted dealers authorized and listed on the Berkey website run by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (NMCL). The thing that sets an authorized dealer apart from an unauthorized dealer is the Authorized Berkey® Dealer logo. Check that the dealer you wish to purchase from has the Authorized Berkey® Dealer logo prominently displayed on their website.

If you have any reservations about whether a dealer is authorized to sell Berkey products or not, phone the number above and they will verify whether the dealer is legit or not.

New Millennium Concepts, Ltd also lists non-authorized Berkey dealers they have identified. It is good practice to check that the dealer you wish to purchase from is not listed on the non-authorized list. Bearing in mind that while this list is updated frequently, it is by no means a complete list of unauthorized dealers. To be safe, your best bet is to check for the Authorized Berkey® Dealer logo and/or to check the list of authorized Berkey dealers listed on NMCL's website.
