The Crown Berkey holds up to 8 PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic filters in the lower chamber, one for each element above. They thread onto the bottom of your elements and reduce fluoride from treated municipal or well water. Each pair is rated for 1,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Should I buy the Imperial Berkey or the Crown Berkey?
The Imperial holds 4.5 gallons and suits 3 to 8 people. The Crown holds 6 gallons and suits 4 to 12. Choose the Crown for a household of 8 or more, or if you want the fastest filtration. At 30 inches tall, plan a spot with no upper cabinets above it.
Which filter elements come with it?
The Crown Berkey comes with 2 Black Berkey elements and holds up to 8. When it is time to replace them, Berkey Phoenix elements are a direct drop-in. Black Berkey elements are currently unavailable for individual purchase due to an EPA regulatory matter.
How long do the filters last, and what do replacements cost?
A pair of Black Berkey elements is rated for 6,000 gallons. A pair of Berkey Phoenix replacement elements is $120 and rated for 5,500 gallons, which works out to about 2 cents per gallon. Running more elements multiplies the gallons before replacement.
Does the Crown Berkey reduce fluoride?
Fluoride reduction requires the optional PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic filters, which are not included. The Crown holds up to 8 PF-2 filters in the lower chamber, one for each element above. A pair is $103 and rated for 1,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first.
