How the Imperial Berkey Water Filter Works
The Imperial Berkey Water Filter system is constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel and comes complete with 2 Black Berkey filtration elements (expandable to 6), 2 chambers (upper and lower), a lid, a nylon spigot (can be upgraded to a stainless steel spigot, sight glass spigot, or stainless waterview spigot), a rubber gasket base, and 4 blocking plugs. The system also includes a Primerite Kit, an anti-airlock clip, and red food dye for testing.
The Imperial Berkey Water Filter can treat any water source—well water, tap water, or untreated water from remote lakes and streams where regulations may be substandard. Its 4.5-gallon capacity and expandable filter configuration make it perfect for larger families, small groups, outdoor activities, and emergency preparedness where electricity or water pressure may not be available.
If you're concerned about arsenic and/or fluoride in your drinking water, you can install up to 6 Berkey PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic filters into the lower chamber as an optional add-on.

Do you need additional Fluoride filters if you increase the number of Black filters used?
Yes, if removing fluoride, you need to match the amount of Fluoride filters in the lower chamber to the number of Black Berkey filters you have installed in the upper chamber.
Does this come with fluoride filters? Or just charcoal?
No, the fluoride filters do not come standard and would be an add-on item.
Do the filters filter out C8 or Pfos/Pfoa?
Yes, the Black Berkey filters will remove PFOA/OS by 99.9%. PFOA/OS test removal rates can be found here.
